About the Artist
Old Skool Andy Before he was old Skool, Andy started playing at friends parties before the 80s ended, moving into bars and clubs in his home town of Croydon in south London, the West End soon followed along with recording collaborations with Choci Roc's, Choci's Chewns label under the guise of Fruits of the Fresh Funk. By the mid 90's Andy was privotal in the setting up of The Phunki Muthas crew that spread out from Croydon and worked with Po Na-Nas across the south east, Croydon, Epsom, Reading and further afield in Cheltenham, later on in Cardiff too, when Andy relocated there full-time. Towards the end of the 90's Andy had gone back into full-time education studying at the Royal Welsh College of music and drama (on the strength of a mix-tape) and taking on DJ duties at Cardiff university's student union and bars & clubs in the city centre, and can still be seen plying his trade, along with his regular Saturday night show of Cardiff Radio.
